CBS News Texas, American Red Cross partner to help victims of California wildfires

blog

CBS News Texas is collaborating with the American Red Cross to support those impacted by the recent wildfires in California. Through our Insta-Thon initiative, we aim to raise over $5,000 to demonstrate the solidarity and compassion of Texans towards the affected communities in California.

All funds raised will be directly allocated to the American Red Cross, enabling them to provide essential services such as shelter, food, and relief supplies to those in need. This effort underscores the importance of community support in times of crisis.

Wildfires in the Los Angeles area have had devastating effects, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 28 lives, the destruction of over 16,000 structures, and consuming approximately 76 square miles of land. These fires have left countless individuals and families in distress.

In light of the ongoing crisis, CBS News Texas' Trevor Sochocki traveled to California to assist our sister station, KCAL, while the blazes were still active. This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to meaningful journalism and community service.

We encourage everyone to join our fundraising efforts and contribute to the relief of victims affected by these catastrophic fires. Click the link in our post below to donate and help make a difference for those in need.
