Firefighters' quick actions save family's dog in southside Fort Worth house fire

TARRANT COUNTY - A family's dog has been saved thanks to the quick actions of Fort Worth firefighters. The pet was rescued from a house fire on the city's southside and received oxygen for 20 minutes, leading to its recovery and a reunion with its owner, according to an update from the fire department.

The incident began shortly after 5:15 p.m. when multiple reports of a residential fire were received from the 1400 block of West Spurgeon Street. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the front of the house engulfed in flames.

In response, the firefighters swiftly attacked the blaze while also ventilating the structure by cutting holes in the roof. Their efforts were crucial in preventing further damage and ensuring safety within the home.

During their search and rescue operation, the firefighters located the dog inside the burning house. They quickly brought the pet outside and administered life-saving oxygen treatment, which ultimately improved its condition.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries other than the dog’s ordeal, highlighting the successful rescue efforts of the first responders.
