Man accused of putting newborn baby's body in dumpster now facing new charges, records show

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - New charges have been filed against James Boothe, who was previously dismissed of charges related to "abuse of a corpse." He is now facing five new allegations, including two counts of trafficking for commercial sex acts, promoting prostitution involving minors aged 12 to 18, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and statutory rape.
The new charges arise from claims that Boothe engaged in an inappropriate three-year relationship with a 16-year-old girl, who later gave birth to a baby girl. Boothe is accused of disposing of the newborn's body in a dumpster following the birth.
Currently, Boothe remains in custody and his bond is set at $1 million.
