Man accused of putting newborn baby's body in dumpster now facing new charges, records show

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - James Boothe, previously accused of abusing a corpse, now faces additional serious charges related to his alleged involvement in the disposal of a newborn's body. The new charges include two counts of trafficking for a commercial sex act, promoting prostitution involving minors, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and statutory rape.
These allegations stem from accusations of an inappropriate relationship Boothe had with a 16-year-old girl over three years. The girl subsequently gave birth to a daughter, whose body Boothe is accused of discarding in a dumpster.
Boothe remains in custody, facing a substantial bond of $1 million. His legal troubles have intensified with these new allegations, raising further concerns about his actions.
