Teen accused of fatally shooting 2, injuring 11 at Mardi Gras celebration in Lousiana arrested in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY, Texas -- Authorities have arrested a man linked to a deadly shooting at a Mardi Gras celebration in Louisiana. Trea'land Ty'rell Castille, 19, is accused of opening fire at the event in Evangeline Parish on March 4, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to eleven others.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office commenced a four-day manhunt for Castille, enlisting the help of Conroe police and the U.S. Marshals through the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force. The search concluded when deputies located Castille at an apartment complex in south Montgomery County.
Castille now faces two counts of first-degree murder along with multiple assault charges stemming from the tragic incident. His apprehension follows considerable efforts by law enforcement to ensure public safety.
Following his arrest, Castille was booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Authorities have confirmed that he is awaiting extradition to Louisiana to face the charges against him.
