A vigil was held in Portland on Saturday for Shaud'e Hutchison, a 31-year-old woman who was the third victim of a series of deadly shootings in the city within 24 hours. Family and friends gathered at the site of her death to honor her memory and express their grief.

Hutchison's mother spoke about the profound loss, stating, "I'm going to miss her so badly; I'm going to miss our daily talks." She emphasized Hutchison's special nature and the love she had for those around her, highlighting how tragically young she was when her life was taken.

The police reported that Hutchison's shooting followed two other incidents, one near Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and another close to North Williams Avenue. On Tuesday afternoon, authorities responded to gunfire near Northeast Gertz Road, where Hutchison was found deceased at the scene.

Aaron Rene Garza, a 42-year-old suspect, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to Hutchison's death. Despite this, her family still feels a deep sense of loss and is seeking justice for the life taken too soon. Hutchison's sister, Ra'eesah Mcmickle, shared the heartache of not being able to say goodbye.

During the vigil, attendees reflected on Hutchison's generous spirit and the impact she made on their lives. Mcmickle expressed how Hutchison's unconditional love transcended all boundaries, and they will deeply miss that warmth. Garza is set to appear in court for his arraignment on Thursday.
