Chicago shooting: Man shot to death during argument on River North sidewalk, police say

A fatal shooting occurred early Sunday morning in downtown Chicago, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old man. The incident took place around 3:15 a.m. in the River North neighborhood, specifically on the 500-block of North Franklin Street, according to police reports.
During the altercation, the victim was involved in a dispute on the sidewalk when another man, whose age remains unknown, pulled out a firearm. The assailant fired several shots, striking the victim multiple times in the chest.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to Northwestern Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition before being pronounced dead. The shooter managed to flee the scene and is currently at large.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and Area Three detectives are actively investigating the case. Police have not disclosed additional details regarding the shooter or the circumstances surrounding the dispute.
