Clickbait Crime Spree: More Fire, More Charges To Face For Arson And False 911 Calls - The BayNet

CHAPTICO, Md. -- Joshua Christian-Stanley Jackson, a 21-year-old man previously charged with arson in Charles County, has been arrested again in St. Mary's County on similar charges. He was taken into custody on March 5, 2025, after investigators connected him to a fire at a vacant home on Maddox Road in Chaptico that occurred on February 14. Authorities allege that Jackson not only set the fire but also made a false 911 call to report it.
This latest incident follows Jackson's recent release from the Charles County Detention Center, where he had been held since February 23. In that prior case, he was arrested for deliberately setting fire to a vacant commercial property in Newburg and subsequently calling 911 to report the blaze.
In addition to the new charges of second-degree arson and making a false 911 call, investigators have also linked Jackson to a staged motor vehicle accident in Hollywood late last year. This incident is part of a broader pattern of behavior that authorities are now scrutinizing.
During a bail review hearing on March 6, Judge James Tanavage ordered Jackson to remain held without bond at the St. Mary's County Detention Center as additional investigations continue.
Authorities are looking into further fires and false emergency calls that Jackson may be connected to in Calvert County, and more charges could follow. They encourage anyone with information about these incidents to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal's Southern Region Office at 410-414-3615.
