Moncks Corner, S.C. — Brandon Brill, a 25-year-old man previously employed as a babysitter in various Lowcountry areas, has been charged with additional child sex crimes as part of an ongoing multi-agency investigation into “sextortion.” The Moncks Corner Police Department announced that Brill, currently held at the Al Cannon Detention Center, faces three new counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the third degree.

The investigation gained traction following Brill's initial arrest on February 19, when three minors reported instances of assault against them in Moncks Corner, prompting detectives to secure further arrest warrants. Captain Lee Mixon, Interim Chief of Police, highlighted the necessity for parental education regarding the reporting of abuse and inappropriate conduct, asserting the critical need to protect vulnerable children.

Authorities began investigating Brill after a case emerged involving a minor being extorted for sexually explicit material. Initially, he faced several charges, including sexual exploitation of a minor, solicitation of a minor, and felony sexual extortion, brought forth by Mount Pleasant officers and ICE agents. Brill had offered babysitting services online since 2021, including a tenure at a local daycare in 2022.

On February 27, Isle of Palms Police charged Brill with criminal solicitation of a minor and disseminating obscene material to a minor under 12 after a parent discovered explicit messages on her son’s phone. Investigators identified Brill as the suspect involved in that incident.

Anyone with information related to Brill's case, or who suspects they may have fallen victim to similar offenses, is encouraged to reach out to Detective Corporal Katheryn Salvo at the provided contact information.
