Chicago shooting: 2 shot, 1 fatally, in Homan Square alley, police say

Two individuals were shot, one of them fatally, in an alley on Chicago's West Side on Saturday evening, according to police reports. Officers responded to the incident in the Homan Square neighborhood, specifically in the 3500-block of West Polk Street, shortly before 6 p.m.
The victims, a 25-year-old man and an unidentified female, were in the alley when they were shot. The man sustained a head injury and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in grave condition. Sadly, he later succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The female victim was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and reported to be in serious condition. Investigations into the shooting are being handled by Area Four detectives.
