Armed Man Shot by Secret Service Agent Near White House After Confrontation

A man carrying a firearm was shot and injured by a Secret Service agent near the White House early Sunday morning, according to authorities. The incident occurred after local police alerted the Secret Service about a "suicidal individual" believed to be traveling to Washington from Indiana.
The situation unfolded while President Donald Trump was away for the weekend in Florida. As Secret Service officers approached the man, he brandished his firearm, leading to an armed confrontation where shots were fired by the agents.
The man was subsequently hospitalized, although his condition remains unknown. The incident took place near 17th and F streets around midnight, not far from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House.
Given that the shooting involved law enforcement, the Metropolitan Police Department will conduct an investigation. As of now, there has been no immediate response from the police department regarding the incident.
