Two Benton Harbor men arrested in New Buffalo drug bust; heroin, crack seized

Two individuals were apprehended in New Buffalo, Michigan, for drug-related offenses, as reported by the Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET). The arrests took place on February 27 when law enforcement responded to a complaint regarding narcotics trafficking and located a vehicle linked to a month-long investigation.
Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered approximately 21 grams of heroin and two grams of crack cocaine, along with drug distribution paraphernalia. The two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and charged with various drug crimes.
A 44-year-old man from Benton Harbor faces charges for possession with intent to deliver heroin and maintaining a drug vehicle, both of which are considered second offenses. His companion, a 30-year-old man also from Benton Harbor, has been charged similarly, including possession with intent to deliver both heroin and crack cocaine.
These arrests highlight ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. Local authorities encourage the public to report any suspicious activity or information related to narcotics.
