The Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) has reported new developments in a homicide that occurred on Powerline Road in Dunlap early Saturday morning. The incident involves Johnathan Belk, 41, who allegedly confronted his wife, Jada Gholston, 31, and another individual, 18-year-old Billy Jean Floyd. Belk is accused of attacking both, resulting in injuries to Gholston and the death of Floyd.

Currently, Belk is being held at the Sequatchie County Jail, facing several charges including criminal homicide. As the investigation remains active, authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the crime or the condition of the victims.

Earlier in the day, law enforcement responded to Erlanger Sequatchie, where they encountered Gholston who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries from a stabbing. Deputies subsequently went to her residence in the Fredonia community, where they discovered two men with wounds suspected to be caused by a cutting instrument. One of the men was dead, while the other suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Sheriff Bill Phillips emphasized that they would not disclose the names of the individuals involved until family members have been properly notified. The SCSO is working to ensure that everyone connected to the incident is in custody as the investigation continues.

As the situation unfolds, police expect to file criminal charges soon, and updates will be provided to the public through Local 3 News.
