HOPEWELL, Va. (WWBT) - Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that left a man with a severe gunshot wound. The victim arrived at a local hospital on Saturday around 11 p.m. seeking medical attention for his injuries.

Initially, he was taken to Tri-Cities Hospital but was subsequently airlifted to Chippenham Hospital for more advanced medical treatment. The police have been actively looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Officers located the crime scene at the intersection of Winston Churchill Drive and East Randolph Road. During their investigation, they discovered multiple spent cartridge casings, indicating that a shooting had occurred in that area.
