AURORA, Colorado (KCNC) -- A man from Aurora, identified as 20-year-old Ross Woessner, was arrested last week in connection with a series of armed robberies targeting gas station convenience stores. Notably, he committed five of these robberies at the Shell gas station located at 3385 South Tower Road and one at the 7-Eleven on East Hampden Avenue.

Woessner's arrest took place on March 4, just nine days after his latest robbery. According to the Aurora Police Department, he has been linked to multiple incidents of armed theft in the area. His criminal history includes a prior arrest in May 2023 for aggravated robbery in Denver.

Following that earlier arrest, Woessner was released on bond but required to undergo two mental health evaluations as ordered by the judge. The charge against him was eventually dropped, and the case was officially closed in September 2024, just prior to his first robbery in Aurora in July 2024.

As Woessner faces new charges, he finds himself confronting serious felonies associated with the recent robberies. On Tuesday, he will learn the number of additional charges that will be pursued by the 18th Judicial District prosecutors.

Aurora's Gang Robbery Investigative Team (GRIT) played a key role in Woessner's apprehension, demonstrating their effectiveness in tackling such criminal activities in the community.
