30 people detained at Dorchester Park for trespassing
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department arrested several individuals for trespassing at Dorchester Park on Tuesday afternoon after receiving complaints about illegal camps and trespassing in the area.
Initially, over 30 people were detained as officers responded to the situation. Authorities cited five individuals for trespassing and four others for camping in the park, while one person received a narcotics citation and another was ticketed for an offense related to a waterway.
In addition to these citations, police cleared out twelve misdemeanor warrants and took eight individuals into custody at the Criminal Justice Center based on those warrants.
Park Rangers played a significant role in managing the aftermath by removing three truckloads of trash, including one load transported by a dump truck.
As part of ongoing efforts, police noted that eight additional camps were tagged for clean-up at a later time.
