Man facing additional charges in 2024 Birmingham quadruple homicide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lamarion Charlie, the man charged in a quadruple murder case from February 2024, is now facing additional charges, including capital murder involving two or more individuals and capital murder committed in the presence of a child.
The alleged murders took place in broad daylight at a car wash in Smithfield, where four men were killed. Surveillance footage captured the moment a vehicle arrived, with two passengers exiting—one from the front seat and another from the back—armed with firearms.
Charlie's defense claims that he was merely the driver of the getaway car, distancing himself from the actual shootings. However, evidence presented in court paints a different picture.
A detective testified that the crime scene yielded over 35 shell casings, indicating that multiple shots were fired during the incident. Additionally, the use of two firearms suggests a carefully coordinated attack.
As the case unfolds, the prosecution aims to build a strong case against Charlie, emphasizing the brutality of the crime and the implications of the new charges.
