An elementary school teacher in Orange County, Florida, was arrested on Monday due to an out-of-state warrant related to a sex crime. Christopher Crisona, 57, was taken into custody at Andover Elementary School after local deputies identified that there was an outstanding warrant from Delaware for unlawful sexual contact.

Orange County Public Schools issued a statement noting that while they do not typically comment on employee matters, Crisona's arrest was linked to a personal issue unrelated to the school environment. The district confirmed that he would not be returning to the campus amid an ongoing investigation.

Ensuring the safety of students and staff is a priority for the school, as emphasized by the principal of Andover Elementary in a message to families. The district has assured parents that their concerns regarding safety are taken seriously.

Crisona has been with Orange County Public Schools since August 2008, having taught at several schools in the district, including Columbia, Sadler, and Fern Creek Elementary schools, as well as Avalon Middle and Wedgefield K-8 schools. His tenure recently concluded at Andover Elementary.

Following his arrest, Crisona was booked into the Orange County jail, where further legal proceedings are expected to take place as the investigation unfolds.
