Orange County elementary teacher arrested, accused of sex crimes: officials

An Orange County elementary school teacher, Christopher Crisona, was recently arrested on allegations of sexual crimes. Reports indicate that he had an outstanding warrant from Delaware for second-degree unlawful sexual contact. Crisona was taken into custody at Andover Elementary School in Orlando on March 10.
Officials from Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) have confirmed that Crisona will not be returning to his teaching position while the investigation is ongoing. He has been associated with the school district since August 2008 and has previously taught at several other schools, including Columbia Elementary and Avalon Middle.
OCPS has chosen not to comment extensively on personnel matters related to the arrest but released a statement indicating that the issue is a personal matter unrelated to the school environment.
Principal Kevin J. Duncan of Andover Elementary also reassured families in a message that the safety of students and staff remains a top priority in light of the incident.
As of now, Christopher Crisona is being held in the Orange County Jail, pending further investigation.
