A Royalton man, Zamir Paley, has been arrested after police discovered a bomb in his vehicle during a traffic stop. The incident occurred on March 13 when Vermont State Police pulled over Paley on Route 14 at approximately 10:15 p.m.

At the time of the stop, Paley was found to have two active arrest warrants for retail theft and DUI related to cocaine possession. During a search of his vehicle, authorities uncovered a pipe bomb.

In response to the dangerous discovery, the Vermont State Police Bomb Squad, along with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) and the FBI, arrived to assist in the investigation. The presence of a bomb prompted immediate concern for public safety.

Paley was subsequently charged with possession of destructive devices in addition to the outstanding warrants. His bail has been set at $7,500 as he awaits further legal proceedings.
