New Castle, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating an assault that occurred during a road rage incident last week on North Dupont Highway. The confrontation took place on Tuesday at approximately 3:31 p.m., near Market Place, involving a Subaru Forester and a dark-colored pickup truck.

Reports indicate that the driver of the Subaru stopped behind the pickup in a left turn lane when the truck's driver approached. Armed with an unknown metal tool, the suspect allegedly broke the Subaru's driver's side window and struck the 59-year-old male driver in the face before fleeing the scene.

Emergency Medical Services were called to assess the victim on-site. Although he sustained injuries, further details regarding his condition have not been disclosed. The suspect has been described as an older white male, but no additional information about him or the pickup truck has been made available.
