LEXINGTON, Neb. (KNOP) - Aristh Rodriguez Linares pleaded not guilty to first degree murder during a recent hearing in Dawson County District Court. The plea was entered on Monday, alongside two additional charges related to weapon possession linked to an incident on January 21.

The incident drew police attention when they were called to a verbal confrontation in the Cypress Lane area, located east of Lexington. Upon arrival, officers discovered 40-year-old Maykel Farinas Carballo deceased inside a vehicle that was abandoned in a front yard.

Rodriguez Linares is currently being detained at the Dawson County Detention Center and is held without bond. His case is ongoing and he is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment on April 1.
