Authorities in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, are investigating the tragic death of 74-year-old Anthony Cervantes, who allegedly was set on fire by his son, Elijah Cervantes, 44. The incident occurred at Anthony's home on 11th Avenue, prompting a response from the Scottsbluff Police and Fire Departments after reports of a fire were received around 9:43 p.m.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found that an oxygen tank had exploded, contributing to the chaos. Captain Lance Kite of the Scottsbluff Police stated that Elijah is suspected of pouring an accelerant on his father before igniting the flames.
