A deputy from the Conway County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has been arrested on charges related to the sexual assault of a minor. The CCSO was informed in early January by the Arkansas State Police's Crimes Against Children Division about allegations involving the unnamed deputy and a minor, prompting the agency to place the deputy on administrative leave. The deputy subsequently resigned for retirement during the ongoing investigation.

Recently, new allegations emerged from the victim's family, implicating Joseph Taylor Dube—who was still an employee of the CCSO and a family friend of the victim—in additional incidents of sexual contact with the minor. Following interviews and gathered information, detectives arrested Dube, charging him with sexually grooming a child and rape.

In response to the serious allegations, Dube was immediately terminated from his position at the CCSO and was taken to a separate facility for processing. The sheriff’s office conveyed its strong disapproval of Dube's actions and emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The CCSO released a statement affirming their commitment to transparency with the public while ensuring the integrity of the ongoing investigation by the Arkansas State Police. They reiterated their dedication to community service and expressed their disappointment and anger over these incidents, highlighting that they do not align with the values of the agency.

The situation continues to unfold as the Conway County Sheriff's Office cooperates fully with the Arkansas State Police in the investigation. The public's trust is paramount, and officials intend to uphold the standards expected of law enforcement.
