Bentonville police: Rogers man shot his mother in the head with crossbow before fleeing | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

A Rogers man, 29-year-old Joseph Michael Alexander, has been arrested in connection with a serious incident involving his parents in Bentonville. He faces multiple charges, including attempted capital murder, aggravated residential burglary, interference with emergency communications, and domestic battery. Alexander was apprehended in Barry County, Missouri, on Monday and is awaiting extradition to Benton County, as confirmed by a release from the Bentonville Police Department.
The police responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Northwest Linebarger Lane, arriving shortly after 8 a.m. on Monday. Upon investigation, it was determined that Alexander had forcibly entered his parents' home. In a violent episode, he allegedly fired a crossbow at his mother, striking her in the head twice.
After the attack, Alexander fled the scene, prompting police to issue a search alert for him. His mother, suffering from life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local emergency room by Bentonville EMS for urgent medical attention.
Authorities succeeded in locating Alexander in Barry County, thanks to the efforts of deputies from the Stone County Sheriff's Office. He was taken into custody after a vehicle pursuit, highlighting the seriousness of his actions and the ongoing threat.
