A Kalispell man, Levi Thomas Hiebert, 36, is facing multiple charges in Flathead County District Court after allegedly breaking into a home earlier this month and was caught on surveillance camera. He is set to be arraigned on April 3 for a felony burglary charge and a misdemeanor theft charge, which were filed after authorities responded to a report of an unauthorized individual in a residence.

Hiebert was arrested by deputies on March 16 after they arrived at the scene, where they found him next to a dirt bike. Upon officers' arrival, they noticed a vehicle leaving the vicinity as well. During the arrest, Hiebert attempted to conceal a baggie in his mouth, later identified as containing fentanyl, which he reportedly chewed on despite orders to spit it out. The substance was ultimately seized as evidence, and he was treated by medical personnel afterward.

Investigations revealed that the dirt bike Hiebert was near was reported stolen from Bigfork in September 2024, with an estimated value of $1,400. Hiebert allegedly had been using it since January 2025. Following his arrest, deputies approached the home he had broken into, confirming with the unaware homeowner that Hiebert was a former tenant who had been evicted.

Surveillance footage reviewed by deputies reportedly showed Hiebert entering through the basement door and taking various items, including a $75 router. In a separate development, authorities intercepted a vehicle driven by Hiebert's girlfriend as it left the area. She admitted to being at the home and allowed a search of her vehicle, during which several bags taken from the home were discovered, along with the homeowner's ID and debit card.

If convicted of felony burglary, Hiebert faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in Montana State Prison and a potential fine of $50,000. Further proceedings will determine the outcomes of the charges against him.
