A Bridgewater woman has been arrested on DUI charges while driving with a young child in Portsmouth. The Portsmouth Police Department reports that 33-year-old Kaleigh Maraglia was taken into custody on Sunday night.

The incident occurred around 9:36 p.m. when an officer noticed Maraglia driving northbound on Route 24 near Sprague Street. The officer observed her vehicle following another car too closely and drifting between lane dividers, prompting a traffic stop.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer detected signs of alcohol impairment. Maraglia subsequently failed field sobriety tests, leading to her arrest. Authorities also discovered open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle.

Maraglia is facing multiple charges, including DUI of liquor or drugs with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) between .10 and .15. Additionally, she is charged with DUI while having a child under the age of 13 as a passenger.

She has been issued traffic citations and is scheduled for an arraignment at the 2nd Division District Court on June 3.
