Andrew J. Davis, a 31-year-old man, has been charged with robbery following his arrest in connection with a credit union theft in Butte on March 24, 2025. He is set to appear in Butte-Silver Bow Justice Court for the first time on Tuesday.

Davis allegedly entered the Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit Union and handed a note to the staff demanding cash. After he fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, police were able to apprehend him in less than two hours near Rocker.

Law enforcement, including the Butte Police and Montana Highway Patrol, quickly responded to the incident. Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff Ed Lester reported that officers received a call about the robbery at approximately 12:21 p.m. and managed to arrest Davis on I-15 after a brief pursuit, during which no injuries were reported and no weapon was seen.

In a concerning development, Davis has reportedly been non-compliant and may not attend his upcoming court appearance. If convicted of robbery, he could face a lengthy prison sentence of up to 40 years and financial penalties reaching $50,000.

The investigation into the robbery continues as authorities gather more information regarding the incident and Davis's actions.
