23-year-old Cody Hill of Fort Smith, accused of creating fake realty firm, wanted in 3 counties | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Cody Lee Hill, a 23-year-old man from Fort Smith, is facing multiple fraud and theft charges and has active arrest warrants from several counties after failing to attend scheduled court hearings. Court documents reveal that Hill has missed at least four hearings between March 6 and 12, with a notable no-show for his sentencing on computer fraud and theft charges in Benton County Circuit Court.
Hill pleaded guilty last October to creating a fraudulent realty company that scammed people through rental home scams, prompting a warrant for his arrest when he failed to appear for sentencing. Records indicate that his last custody event occurred in December 2023, following his arrest for failing to pay court fines, from which he was released after posting bail.
Most recently, an arrest warrant was issued in Washington County Circuit Court after he failed to appear for hearings on March 12. The allegations include theft-related charges tied to incidents from January and August 2023, with prior counts of theft of property valued at varying amounts also pending against him in Benton County.
Further investigation into Hill's fraudulent activities has revealed that he used platforms like CashApp to facilitate scams, with significant transaction sums tied to a fake realty company he created. Evidence includes testimonies from victims who paid deposits for rental homes that turned out to be nonexistent, with reports detailing over 300 transactions linked to Hill's CashApp account.
In addition to his Benton County issues, Hill has also neglected court appearances in Franklin County, where he previously pleaded guilty to theft and other offenses. A bench warrant has been issued for him in those cases as well, further complicating his legal situation.
