SIOUX CITY -- The Sioux City Police Department has identified the man who was fatally stabbed on Saturday afternoon in Morningside as 53-year-old Timothy W. Chark, a resident of Sioux City. The announcement was made in a statement released on Wednesday, which noted that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday at 2208 South Maple St. Upon arrival, officers determined that the altercation was "domestic in nature." Sadly, Chark suffered a stab wound and was transported to MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The police have indicated that further details regarding the case will not be disclosed at this time as the investigation continues.
