STURBRIDGE, Mass. — A Marlborough man, Andrew Sebastiano, was arrested by the Sturbridge Police Department and Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Law Enforcement on March 19 after the discovery of 96 dead animals on a property he was renting in Sturbridge.

Sebastiano faces 192 charges related to animal cruelty, including both general cruelty and cruelty as a custodian. Following his arraignment, he was held without bail and is scheduled for a dangerousness hearing on April 1.

Among the deceased animals found were chickens, geese, pigs, ducks, and rabbits. In addition to the deceased animals, police seized an adult dog, which has since been placed under the care of the MSPCA.

This is not Sebastiano's first encounter with the law regarding animal cruelty; he previously pled guilty to similar charges in 2021 and was sentenced to probation at that time.

The case has raised concerns about animal welfare and the enforcement of laws designed to protect animals. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this troubling situation.
