Babysitter checking for monsters finds man hiding under child's bed

In Barton County, Kansas, a babysitter made a shocking discovery when a child she was watching reported a "monster" hiding under the bed. Upon investigating, she found a man hiding in the space, prompting a confrontation between them. The Barton County Sheriff's Office reported that the babysitter came face-to-face with the suspect, which led to a chaotic scene.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the incident at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday. After the babysitter revealed the encounter, she described an altercation that ensued, during which both she and the child were knocked over as the man attempted to escape. The situation quickly escalated, prompting the babysitter to call law enforcement for assistance.

The following day, while searching for the suspect, deputies located Martin Villalobos Jr., 27, in the vicinity. When he noticed law enforcement approaching, he fled the scene, but deputies managed to apprehend him after a brief chase. Villalobos was subsequently arrested and brought to the Barton County Jail.

He faces several serious charges, including aggravated kidnapping and child endangerment, reflecting the gravity of the situation. Villalobos is currently being held on a significant bond of $500,000 as the investigation continues.

Interestingly, the sheriff's office revealed that Villalobos had previously lived on the property where the incident occurred and was under a protection order to stay away from the location.
