2 sentenced for roles in fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Bemidji man

Two men have been sentenced for their involvement in the stabbing death of 18-year-old Andrew Fisher in Bemidji in June 2023. Robert Keezer, 24, and James Burnette, 27, received their sentences on amended charges of first-degree aggravated robbery following a plea agreement.
The incident occurred on June 24, when officers responded to a physical altercation on Minnesota Court. They found Fisher bleeding from multiple stab wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that Daniel Keezer, 21, along with Robert Keezer and Burnette, had lured Fisher to a residence with the intent to rob him.
In court, both Robert Keezer and Burnette admitted to their roles in the robbery, leading to their guilty pleas for aiding and abetting the crime. Daniel Keezer also pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for his actions during the incident.
Robert Keezer was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while Burnette received a sentence of 176 months, approximately 15 years. Both men were credited for 640 days served prior to sentencing.
They will serve their sentences at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility. This case highlights the tragic consequences of violent crime and the legal repercussions faced by those involved.
