MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Prosecutor's Office has announced the sentencing of a Bourbon woman following an investigation that began in April 2024. The inquiry, spearheaded by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department detective, had the support of various law enforcement agencies, including Indiana State Police and the Plymouth Police Department.

The case against Jackie Marie Gomez arose when authorities executed a search warrant at her home in Bourbon, based on previous purchases of cocaine. Officers had previously bought 347 grams of cocaine from her, and during the search, they seized an additional 30 grams along with evidence indicating drug dealing, including digital scales and packaging materials.

Furthermore, authorities recovered $2,750 in cash, which was used in the undercover transaction with Gomez. This evidence solidified the case against her for drug-related offenses.

On March 20, Gomez pled guilty to Dealing Cocaine, classified as a Level 2 Felony, in Marshall Superior Court 1. Following her guilty plea, she was sentenced to a total of 20 years, with 18 years to be served in the Indiana Department of Correction.

In addition to her prison sentence, Gomez received a two-year suspended sentence that will be served on probation. This case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address drug-related crimes in the community.
