Man sentenced to 10 years for sex crimes in Mandan
A Mandan man, Kyle Kennedy, was sentenced this week for sex crimes after pleading guilty to gross sexual imposition. He received a 20-year sentence but will serve only 10 years in prison, with the possibility of a longer term if he re-offends.
Kennedy's conviction stems from investigations into inappropriate contact he had with two young boys, with the abuse reported to have occurred between 1998 and 2013.
In addition to his prison term, Kennedy is required to register as a sex offender and will be on lifetime supervised probation. He is also prohibited from having any contact with the victims involved in the case.
His 10-year sentence will run concurrently with a separate federal sentence.
Prior to this judgment, Kennedy had served time in a Minnesota prison before being transferred back to North Dakota.
