Man arrested a attacking mother with hacksaw in Boone County

A Boone County man was arrested after allegedly threatening his mother with a hacksaw and physically assaulting her. The incident occurred on Ridgeview Nellis Road, prompting a response from West Virginia State Troopers M.D. Peres, A.R. Workman, and R.K. Bowers.
Upon their arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who recounted a frightening encounter with her son, David Dean Cabell. She reported that he entered the home wielding a hacksaw, threatening her life by pressing the weapon against her neck and verbally issuing death threats. The situation escalated when Cabell struck her in the back of the head and chased her across the road, pinning her against a guardrail while continuing to threaten her.
A witness, identified as the homeowner, corroborated the victim's account, confirming that Cabell not only threatened his mother but also displayed the hacksaw during the altercation. This testimony helped reinforce the severity of the situation.
Following the disturbance, troopers located Cabell and took him into custody. He is now facing multiple charges, including domestic assault and battery, highlighting the potential dangers of such domestic disputes.
