ICE arrests 370 illegal alien offenders in massive Massachusetts operation targeting gangs, fugitives

BOSTON, MA -- U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), alongside several federal law enforcement agencies, arrested 370 illegal alien offenders in Massachusetts during a six-day enforcement operation aimed at targeting transnational gangs, violent criminals, and fugitive offenders. The operation took place from March 18 to March 23.
This initiative was designed to focus on removing foreign nationals with extensive criminal backgrounds or ties to organized crime. Among those apprehended were members and associates of gangs such as MS-13, Tren de Aragua, Trinitarios, and 18th Street.
Acting field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston, Patricia H. Hyde, emphasized that these arrests contribute to the safety of the Commonwealth by removing dangerous offenders from the streets. Of the total arrests, 205 individuals had serious criminal convictions or were facing active charges.
ICE noted the presence of six foreign fugitives wanted in their countries for severe crimes, including murder and drug trafficking. Several of those arrested had previously been deported but returned and were charged again with violent or sex-related offenses.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of 44 kilograms of methamphetamine, 5 kilograms of fentanyl, and three firearms. This extensive collaboration included agencies such as the FBI, DEA, ATF, and Customs and Border Protection, demonstrating a united effort in enforcing immigration laws and improving public safety.
