Boise Police arrest 37-year-old man on several charges

A 37-year-old man from Nampa, Ottis Moore, was arrested on Wednesday after barricading himself in a home in Boise. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at a residence located near 36th Street and Sunset Avenue. Moore already had an arrest warrant for felony probation violation at the time of his standoff.
Boise Police conducted a safety check after Moore made previous threatening comments. To ensure the safety of the area, law enforcement closed several roads and established a containment perimeter around the house where he was hiding. Despite multiple attempts to contact Moore, officers were initially unsuccessful.
After approximately two hours, Moore exited the residence around 7:30 p.m. and was taken into custody without further incident. Upon searching the home, police discovered multiple firearms along with drug paraphernalia, indicating that the situation was serious.
Investigations revealed that Moore attempted to destroy a controlled substance before leaving the house. As a result, he is facing several charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, destruction of evidence, and possession of a controlled substance.
Moore was transported to the Ada County Jail following his arrest, where he awaits further legal proceedings. This situation highlights ongoing concerns regarding safety and the handling of individuals with prior criminal histories.
