Drug bust leads to arrest of man with active warrants in West Virginia, Pennsylvania

A multi-agency investigation led by the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office and the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force resulted in the arrest of Brandon Lewis at the Red Roof Inn in Greensburg on March 21, 2025. The operation included agents from the Office of the Attorney General and followed a search warrant executed at the motel as part of an ongoing inquiry.
Lewis, who had active arrest warrants from Pennsylvania and West Virginia, was apprehended without incident upon returning to the hotel. Law enforcement searched Lewis and found significant quantities of illegal drugs, including 36 grams of suspected fentanyl, 33 grams of suspected cocaine, and 27 grams of suspected heroin, amounting to an estimated street value of $13,200.
In a further search of his motel room, authorities located a backpack containing 29 bricks of suspected fentanyl and about $3,300 in cash. During questioning, Lewis claimed that his release from the Mercer County Jail in February was a mistake.
District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli commended the collaborative efforts of local, county, and state law enforcement agencies, emphasizing the importance of their work in preventing these harmful substances from entering the community. The successful outcome of this investigation highlights the ongoing challenges posed by drug trafficking in the region.
