AUBURN -- A juvenile suspect, a 15-year-old male, was arrested earlier this month in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in December. According to a post by the Auburn Police Department, the suspect faces charges including two counts of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and three counts of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Prior to his arrest, the juvenile had additional warrants issued against him. Auburn police were able to locate and detain the suspect on March 19. Following his arrest, he was transferred to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

The shooting incident that led to his charges took place on December 14, when the Auburn police received reports of shots fired in the Main Street area. Witnesses described seeing a group of teenagers armed with a firearm, and shots were reported to have been discharged during the encounter.

Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings and noted damage to a nearby building but reported that no injuries were sustained. The group of juveniles had reportedly fled the scene prior to police arrival.
