The incident occurred on March 24, 2025, at 7 PM when officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Melrose Avenue due to a vehicle accident that involved a confrontation between the two drivers.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that Mr. Giron-Reyes was intoxicated while operating his vehicle. They found open containers of alcohol in the front seat area, further confirming his state at the time of the incident.
