Arrest made in Baker City shooting death

BAKER COUNTY, Oregon -- Caleb James Mansuetti, 23, has been arrested by Baker City Police for the alleged shooting and murder of 35-year-old Brandon Allen Chase on March 20. The incident has garnered attention due to its violent nature and the subsequent arrest.
Two days after the shooting, Chase was pronounced dead in a Boise ICU, with the Ada County Coroner officially ruling the cause of death as homicide. This tragic event has raised concerns within the community regarding gun violence and public safety.
Police responded to reports of a man with a gunshot wound on March 20 and discovered Chase in the driver's seat of his vehicle. Initially taken to a local hospital, Chase was later airlifted to a regional facility for further treatment, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
Mansuetti is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, pointing a firearm at another person, menacing, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is currently booked at the Baker County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
