Police in Auburn arrested a 15-year-old male earlier this month in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in December. According to a post by the Auburn Police Department on March 27, the juvenile faces charges including two counts of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and three counts of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

The arrest followed the issuance of warrants for the teenager's capture by Auburn police detectives. Additional arrest warrants for other suspects were also mentioned, though details on those individuals were not provided. The police successfully located and arrested the teenager on March 19, transferring him to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

The shooting incident initially took place on December 14, when Auburn police received reports of shots fired in the Main Street area. Witnesses described seeing a group of teenagers brandishing a firearm and confirmed that gunfire had erupted. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found shell casings and noted damage to a nearby building.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the group of teenagers had fled the scene before the police arrived. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about youth and firearm-related violence in the community.

In a separate case, a Lewiston man recently pleaded guilty to charges related to child sexual abuse materials, further underscoring the importance of community awareness and proactive measures toward safety and crime prevention.
