Pair arrested by troopers after pursuit ends in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) recently arrested two individuals following a pursuit that began when the Columbus Police Department notified NSP about a driver with an active arrest warrant. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Michael Neemeyer, fled south from Columbus towards Lincoln.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., NSP troopers spotted the van speeding at 100 miles per hour on eastbound Highway 34, west of Lincoln. The trooper attempted to initiate a stop, but Neemeyer refused to yield, prompting a pursuit by law enforcement.
As the chase continued toward Lincoln, NSP pilots took over tracking the van from the air, allowing ground troopers to discontinue their pursuit. The pilots located the vehicle in the vicinity of Northwest 53rd Street and West St. Paul Avenue, where both Neemeyer and his passenger, 27-year-old Malorie Poessnecker, exited the van and attempted to flee on foot.
Troopers quickly apprehended both suspects after searching the area. Neemeyer faces several charges, including flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, multiple traffic violations, and an existing warrant.
Poessnecker is facing charges of resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and failing to obey a lawful order. Both individuals have been lodged in the Lancaster County Jail following their arrest.
