ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Neighbors in downtown Albuquerque have raised concerns about a local massage parlor, suspecting that it operates more like a front for prostitution than a legitimate business. A resident, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed that the establishment’s odd hours of operation raised red flags, especially after witnessing a police raid there last summer.

During that raid, police arrested Mei Chien Wu for allegedly promoting prostitution; however, the charges were later dropped. This week, her sister, Ichi Wu, was arrested after reports surfaced that the business had reopened and was still engaged in suspicious activities. Observers noted that only men were frequenting the establishment, often knocking on doors and waiting to be let in.

Investigators went undercover, texting a number associated with the business and receiving explicit photos in response. They discovered the massage parlor advertised online with images and descriptions of sexual services. When agents entered the premises, they found Ichi Wu alongside a considerable amount of condoms, lubricant, and lingerie packed in a takeout bag.

Witnesses reported that Ichi Wu exhibited panic when an agent received a call linked to the parlor, allegedly attempting to warn the caller about the presence of law enforcement. The ongoing activity has raised safety concerns among neighbors, making them feel uneasy due to the constant stream of unknown individuals frequenting the establishment.

Ichi Wu is now facing a charge of promoting prostitution. Authorities revealed that the previous charges against her sister were dropped in order to collect further evidence for a stronger case.
