A fight over friends and a cup left a woman with a 2-inch gash, suspect arrested

A domestic dispute in Hurricane, West Virginia, has led to the arrest of Randy Lynn Cole, who faces charges of Domestic Battery and Unlawful Restraint. The incident began when a woman sent a distress text saying, "Help, hurry 911," prompting her concerned friend to alert authorities due to Cole's history of allegedly holding the victim against her will.
When deputies arrived at the location on Clymers Creek Road, they heard yelling from inside the home and found Cole at the door. Inside, they discovered the victim visibly shaken with a significant head injury and dried blood on her face. Initially, she downplayed her injuries, attributing them to an accident with a cup, but later revealed that Cole had taken her car keys and threatened to damage her vehicle if she did not comply with his demands.
Further investigation uncovered that Cole had physically restrained the victim during an argument. He allegedly grabbed her hair while driving and threatened to burn important personal documents if she did not acquiesce to his wishes. These actions raised concerns about the victim's safety and well-being.
Witness statements and the visible injuries led deputies to arrest Cole on the spot. He was subsequently taken to the Putnam County Courthouse for processing, where he faces serious legal consequences for his alleged actions.
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of domestic violence and the importance of responding quickly to distress signals, as well as the need for strong support systems for victims in such situations.
