Man arrested for strangulation in Point Pleasant

POINT PLEASANT, WV (LOOTPRESS) - A domestic violence incident in Mason County led to the arrest of Joshua Burke on charges of strangulation following an altercation with a victim on Lincoln Ave in Point Pleasant.

The victim reported that Burke physically assaulted her, pressing her against a wall and using his forearm and hand to choke her for about 4 to 5 minutes before escaping the scene. Law enforcement arrived to find visible marks on her neck, supporting her claims.

Officers collected witness statements and were able to track Burke to his residence, where he was taken into custody without incident.

After his arrest, Burke was transported to the Mason County Sheriff's Department for processing. Authorities are reminding the public of the importance of reporting domestic violence incidents and seeking help when needed.
