Maine State Police release hundreds of photos from Lewiston mass shooting investigation

Maine State Police have made public hundreds of photographs related to the tragic mass shooting that occurred in Lewiston in 2023, which claimed the lives of 18 individuals and left 13 others injured. This release follows a public records request and includes significant evidence from the scene.

Among the 800 images disclosed are aerial shots of the crime scenes, as well as close-ups detailing the shooter's abandoned vehicle discovered at a Lisbon boat launch. The photographs also document the high-powered weapons and ammunition recovered from the car.

These released images represent only a small portion of the total evidence collected, with more than 15,000 photographs taken throughout the investigation. The agency has chosen to protect the privacy of survivors and the families of victims by withholding many of the images.
