Three individuals were found dead in Scottsdale this week in what authorities are treating as a murder-suicide, according to a statement from the Scottsdale Police Department announced on Thursday. The victims were discovered around 3 p.m. on Wednesday with gunshot wounds at a home located near Pima and Indian Bend roads.

The identities and ages of the deceased have not been made public. The police first responded to the residence in the morning after a welfare check was requested, triggered by concerns that one of the victims had missed work and couldn’t be contacted.

Officers attempted to reach the residents multiple times without success. Eventually, they entered the backyard, where they noticed two individuals who appeared lifeless inside the house. Upon further investigation, they discovered a third body in a different room within the home.

Evidence was collected from the crime scene throughout the night as detectives began piecing together the circumstances surrounding the incident. Based on their findings, authorities are considering this situation as a probable murder-suicide, indicating that they do not suspect any other individuals to be involved.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner is currently working to determine the official causes of death as the investigation continues.
