BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly speeding through a school zone while intoxicated, with her six children in the vehicle. Misty Dawn Moon, 34, was stopped by deputies on U.S. 60 in Owingsville for driving 40 mph in a 25 mph school zone.

Upon being pulled over, Moon reportedly could not provide a driver's license or proof of insurance. According to the arrest citation, she exhibited slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, raising concerns about her sobriety.

Deputies administered field sobriety tests, which indicated signs of impairment, leading to her arrest.

Moon now faces multiple charges, including wanton endangerment and speeding in a school zone, due to the dangerous situation for her children and other road users.

The incident highlights the serious risks of driving under the influence, especially in areas populated by children.
